Lake Forest, IL – Jim Carris, first time Congressional candidate in Illinois’ 10th District, issued a formal challenge last week to incumbent Congressman Brad Schneider to participate in a debate ahead of the November 5 general election. This debate would provide a vital platform for both candidates to provide a comprehensive overview of their policy positions and plans to address the key issues impacting the 10th District.
“Voters deserve to hear directly from those seeking to represent them,” said Jim Carris. “For the past ten years, Brad Schneider has represented our District in Congress and it is essential for voters to evaluate his record, the impact of his policies, and the direction he will take moving forward. They deserve a thorough and transparent discussion about the future of our community and the opportunity to understand our respective approaches to solving the challenges our District faces. I believe that through this critical conversation, we can empower voters to make an informed decision.”
As of August 14, the Schneider campaign has not accepted the invitation to debate. Should he change his position and accept, the Carris campaign team will work with local media outlets and civic organizations to coordinate the event and ensure broad coverage, making it accessible to all residents of the 10th District.
Jim Carris is a local business leader running for Congress in Illinois’ 10th District, which consists of Chicago’s north and northwest suburbs, including Lake and portions of Cook and McHenry Counties. He’s a new, independent leader who will make the economy, public safety, and national security his focus.
