Libertyville, IL – Jim Carris released the following statement on Monday, October 7, 2024:
“Today marks the solemn one-year anniversary of the brutal, coordinated attacks carried out by Hamas-led Palestinian armed groups on October 7, 2023 on Israel, leaving a tragic impact on countless families and the global community. Since that horrific day, more than 1,200 Israelis have been killed, and over 60 men, women, and children remain in captivity – including four Americans. One year later, we are still faced with the same urgent situation: the abduction of hostages and ongoing captivity is a crime against humanity that demands our urgent and unwavering attention.
Hamas’ heinous act of terrorism is a stark reminder of the ongoing threats that Israel faces, the rising tide of anti-Israel sentiment, and the increasing threats from Iranian proxies including Hamas. Innocent lives hang in the balance, and our response will define our resolve in the face of that terror. The families of these hostages deserve nothing less than our full commitment to bringing their loved ones home.
On this somber day, we stand in solidarity with the people of Israel and those affected by the brutal actions of Hamas. As an ardent supporter of Israel, I reaffirm my commitment to ensuring the safety of innocent lives and advancing peace in the region and will continue to advocate loudly for their return. As Americans, we should expect no less.”
